The Travis Roy Center at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital embraces innovation that accelerates independence for people with paralysis.

Our Mission

Our mission is to accelerate functional independence and quality of life for people with severe SCI. Our Center is implementing the most promising technologies that translate into clinical and home applications. We are working with corporate partnerships to bring about positive near-term impact to persons with SCI, their loved ones, and caregivers.

Our Model

Our unique model of technology translation breaks down the traditional silos of academia and barriers with industry, enabling our world-leading visionary team to collaborate across our focus areas of diagnostics, therapeutics, and sustainability.

Our Story

Since our founding in 2023, we have demonstrated our ability to generate a pipeline of ideas and technologies that address the unmet challenges in SCI rehabilitation. We have developed an enriching environment of interdisciplinary collaboration, within Harvard, MGB, and through partnerships with leading institutions in the New England ecosystem and worldwide.

Our Values

Our values are rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, and the unwavering belief that every individual has the right to live a fulfilling life, regardless of their circumstances. We champion independence, advocate for equality, and strive to create a world where barriers are shattered, and dreams are within reach. In the heart of our center lies a beacon of courage, resilience, respect, innovation, and unwavering support. We stand together, not defined by our challenges, but by our resilience and determination to overcome the barriers of SCI.

We seek entrepreneurial investors and industrial partners who can partner with us to bring the most promising technologies to market. Please contact us if you are interested in working with us, licensing a technology, or if you would like to learn more about theĀ Travis Roy Center Advisory Board.
